I had the opportunity to visit our Vietnam office last Wednesday to meet Hang, Tam, Tuyen (Country Manager for Vietnam) and his team. I am very impressed with the business there and its financial performance and happy to know that Hang and Tam have a good working environment and support together with the rest of the BSS team. We are doing well in Building segment in Vietnam (mainly MEP) but we are lacking in terms of civil and structural piece as well as the Infrastructure segment which we plan to grow. Right now Hang is focusing on registration of the interco loan (FY10 to FY15 transactions) and working with EY to ensure we don't have any tax exposure in those period as we are expecting a tax audit soon.
One sad news is that Tam, who has been with us for 4 years, has decided to leave Aurecon to pursue other opportunities. On behalf of the team and the company, I would like to thank Tam for all her commitment and contributions to Aurecon and I wish her all the best in her new endeavours. For those of you who have not met Tam, attached is a photo (Tam standing in the middle) that we took outside the restaurant after a simple farewell lunch.
On a happier note, I would like to welcome Xin Hwee (see attached photo) to our team. Xin Hwee, joined us last month as Assistant Accountant for Singapore reporting to Amu. Feel free to send a note to Xin Hwee to welcome her and share with her your knowledge and experience!
